[Guide] Converting video files

Post by Boyo on Thu Jun 11, 2009 4:27 am

There are lots of ways that you can convert video files. One application I have used and have gotten outstanding results with. Unfortunetly this program lowers the video quality a bit and keeps the fps rate at 30 fps. The program is non the less worth using. It is called Handbrake http://handbrake.fr/. You can download it at http://handbrake.fr/?article=download.

The first step to converting your video is to download and install Handbrake. *make sure you download the version with GUI

The second is to run it. Once its run click on source to choose where your video is. You can choose between a file on your computer or a dvd. The next step is to press Browse which is in the destination section. This option allows you to choose where the converted file will be.

The third step is too choose the format that the file will be converted into. You can choose this under Output Settings.

Now you have to edit some settings. To the right there is a list of Presets. These are preconfigured options that you can select so that the video can be converted specifically for the device that you will be playing it on. Unless you are an advanced user I would recomend selecting from the presets rather than playing with options in the bottom tabs (Picture Settings, Video, Audio & Subtitles, Chapters, Advanced, Query Editor)

Finally, click Add to Queue which is on the top of the window. Click start and your file will begin converting.

Enjoy

You could just get Adobe CS4 Master Collection and get it to do everything for you Wink

Or you could just download a media converter with a key-gen.

Sorry Boyo, but this isn't new.
